Douglas A. Foster is the author of \u2018A Life of Alexander Campbell.\u2019 The book, released in June, is considered the first critical biography of Campbell, founder of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and of Bethany College.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
BETHANY, W.Va. \u2013 The author of a biography on the founder of Bethany College will be the keynote speaker at the college’s annual Founder’s Day Convocation on March 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Douglas A. Foster is a scholar in residence at Abilene Christian University, where he was a full-time professor for more than 25 years. His latest book, \u201cA Life of Alexander Campbell,\u201d was published in June and is considered the first critical biography of Campbell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Campbell was a leader in childhood and adolescent education and championed universal female education. He also was one of the principal founders of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and of Bethany College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
